Grand trine in air

Traducción en preparación. Mientras tanto, te mostramos el texto en inglés.

Today the Sun in Libra, Uranus in Gemini and Pluto in Aquarius stand at roughly equal distances around the wheel, all three in air signs, each in trine to the other two. That closed triangle is a grand trine in air, and it is still tightening.

The trine itself comes from Ptolemy. He counts it among the true configurations of the zodiac: parts four signs apart, a hundred and twenty degrees, one right angle and a third. His reason is geometric. Divide the half-circle into thirds and the trine is the side of an equilateral triangle drawn inside the circle. Sir Christopher Heydon, writing in the same line, counts that triangle among the few regular figures whose sides divide the circle evenly by signs as well as by degrees. Ptolemy calls the trine harmonious because it joins signs of the same kind, all masculine or all feminine. Today's three share an element as well: all air.

What we add is the closure. Where three bodies each hold a trine to the other two, the equilateral triangle is completed. The three support one another and need nothing from outside. What they signify comes easily and keeps going without effort. Uranus and Pluto have held their trine for years, so this is background. The Sun is passing through, and while it does, that long, general ease becomes briefly specific.

We read the cost alongside the ease. A closed circuit carries no pressure anywhere in it. Nothing in the figure compels anyone to use what it offers. Ease that is never drawn on stays unused. In a birth chart, the talent a grand trine describes can sit idle for a lifetime. In the sky it is a passing condition, and it loosens as the Sun moves on.

Today the circuit is not entirely sealed. Neptune in Aries stands opposite the Sun and completes a larger figure, a kite, with Neptune as its focal body. That gives the triangle one point where it is pulled on.

The practice follows from the cost. The figure gives freely, so spend it on purpose. Pick one thing that has been coming easily lately and would carry on happily without you, a skill or a way of thinking something through. Put it to deliberate use today rather than letting it run on its own. Write down the idea that arrived without effort, or finish the task you know you could do well, and note what it produced. The ease is real. Only use makes it count.
