Pluto stations direct in Aquarius
Pluto stands still today at 3 degrees of Aquarius and turns direct, after about five months of apparent backward motion.
A station is the day a planet seems to halt before it changes direction, and the tradition gives that halt particular weight. Brennan calls a station near an exact contact an emphasis on the transit. Forrest finds that a planet stationing on a sensitive point has a far more noticeable effect than the same planet simply passing over it. The old line agrees: Sepharial held that a planet stationary on the place of a significator has almost the power of a primary direction. The reason lies in the stillness. A planet that stops lingers on one degree, and its contact there is drawn out and pressed home. People with planets in the early degrees of Aquarius tend to feel this station most.
The direction it turns from matters too. Llop, Brennan and Lanyadoo read a retrograde period as a time when a planet's force slows and turns inward, given over to review and reconsidering. Hand holds that retrogradation does not weaken a planet, but a retrograde planet tends not to show on the outer plane. Turning direct, Pluto's force starts to move outward again after a season of inward work.
That force is transformation. Hand reads Pluto as breakdown followed by renewal. Arroyo reads it as the need to let go of the old, even through pain, and also names its other direction: compulsion, manipulation and an appetite for power used to avoid facing oneself. Red Milenaria, writing on Pluto in Aquarius, describes a force behind changes that reverse situations, rescuing everything of value and striking at whatever stands in the way of renewal. Pluto holds a sign for twelve to thirty-three years, so today does not begin that condition. It gives it a sharper edge.
The kabbalistic schools place Pluto differently on the Tree. Halevi puts it at Daat, the hidden Sephirah. Red Milenaria sets it in the left column above Binah, and Astrocábala gives it no Sephirah of its own. We leave its place open and follow Astrocábala on what it asks: that collapse and reconstruction stop opposing each other and work as one regeneration.
Hand gives the practical key. Under Pluto, he holds, a person cannot simply stay where they are. The best course is to help the change along rather than cling to what is going, and to act deliberately, for something wider than one's own power, with release as the last resort. If something came up for review in recent months and you now see that it has run its course, take one concrete step today that acts on what you found. Keep the step outward and specific: a conversation, a decision written down, a habit replaced with the thing you mean to build. Pick an action whose purpose reaches past keeping control of the situation.
