The day's steadiest fact is the Sun in Virgo trine the Moon in Capricorn, exact this morning and then separating. Earth to earth: the two lights are pulling in the same direction, and what they favour is unglamorous competence — sorting, mending, finishing, getting the practical thing actually done rather than planned. Virgo asks for the detail attended to and Capricorn for the structure that holds; with the Sun near the very end of Virgo, this is a good sky for closing out work rather than opening it.
Mercury in Libra is also exact by sextile to Jupiter in Leo. Speech and thinking are generous under this contact — Libra weighs both sides, Leo warms the room — and a conversation that has been sitting awkwardly has more room in it than usual. Mercury is still loosely opposite retrograde Saturn in Aries, separating now, which puts a corrective edge on the same talk: an instinct to check the claim before making it. That combination tends to produce persuasion that can survive a question.
Against that, the Moon in Capricorn stands opposite Mars in Cancer, and both square Chiron at the last degree of Aries. The fact sheet gives this as a T-square with Chiron at the apex, and the apex is where the pressure collects. Domestic and personal irritations get pressed on a sore place rather than a fresh one — the reaction is out of proportion to the trigger because the trigger is old. The Moon moves off it within the day; Chiron does not. Anyone with planets in the late cardinal degrees will feel this more directly.
The second T-square is the one tightening. The Sun in Virgo is applying to an opposition with Neptune in Aries, and both are squaring Black Moon Lilith in the first degree of Capricorn, which holds the apex. Black Moon Lilith marks what refuses to be accommodated, and with Neptune's blurring on one arm and Virgo's exactness on the other, the thing that will not be smoothed over becomes visible whether or not it is convenient. This configuration is applying, so it sharpens across the next several days rather than resolving today. We would not claim more for it than that.
Venus in Scorpio is exact by quincunx to retrograde Uranus in Gemini, and separating from a square to Pluto in Aquarius. The quincunx is the one angle the tradition genuinely disagrees about — Ptolemy does not count signs five apart as configured at all, while modern practice reads the angle as one of adjustment, and that is the line we follow. Read that way, it asks for a small correction in affection or value: something wants altering rather than defending. The Pluto square is loosening, but while it lasts it gives Scorpio's intensity a hard edge.
Seven bodies stand in cardinal signs, which is a lot of initiating impulse for a day whose best aspects reward finishing. Five bodies are retrograde, all of them slow — that is the season's background, not today's news.
A workable use of this sky: pick the one unfinished practical thing, complete it, and let the conversation you have been avoiding happen while Mercury is still generous.
