A tight T-square is forming, and the strain has one address. The Sun, at the very last degree of Virgo, stands opposite Neptune in Aries, and both are squared by Black Moon Lilith at the first degree of Capricorn. Lilith is the apex, which means the quarrel between the other two lands there, and Black Moon Lilith is read as what refuses to be accommodated — the part that will not be made palatable or traded away for acceptance. Under this figure, something that has been quietly tolerated stops being tolerable, and it tends to show up against rules, structures and standing, which is Capricorn's territory. The figure is applying, so it tightens through the next few days rather than loosening.

The two ends of the opposition make the pressure worse in a particular way. Virgo asks for accuracy and correct detail; Neptune dissolves the outline you are trying to draw. Sepharial's account of Neptune is blunt about this — he associates it with complications, an involved state of affairs, and a disposition to double-dealing and irresponsible action. So the demand for clarity meets a fog, and the refusal at the apex takes the strain of both. The point of the wheel opposite Lilith, in early Cancer, is empty, and nothing in the sky today supplies it: the softer register, care offered rather than extracted, has to be brought in deliberately. That is the practical use of this figure — say plainly what you will not accept, and supply the warmth around it yourself, because the configuration will not.

Mercury in Libra is exactly sextile Jupiter in Leo, and this is the day's good contact. Speech is generous and large-minded under it, and proportion is easier to see than usual. A difficult conversation has more room in it than it would have had.

Venus in Scorpio is exactly quincunx Uranus in Gemini. Here the tradition divides openly: Ptolemy holds that signs five apart share no familiarity at all and does not count the angle among his configurations, while modern practice — the line we follow — reads it as adjustment, two bodies with nothing in common making repeated small corrections. Read that way, it puts a restless edge on attachment: Scorpio's wish to hold deeply meets Uranus's disruption, and neither accommodates the other.

Chiron moved back into Aries on 16 September and sits at that sign's final degree, retrograde. The Sun is exactly quincunx it today, and exactly quincunx the North Node, with Mars in Cancer squaring Chiron and tightening. This is the separating side of the day and it loosens from here, but while it holds, a sore place is in view and Mars makes it itch. Chiron by transit is best read as an area asking for attention, not a diagnosis — attend to your own need first, then to others'.

The Moon has just entered Aquarius and is moving off a sextile to Saturn in Aries, which lends the day some cool structure to work within.

While this holds: name the one thing you will not go along with, and say it once, calmly, rather than a dozen times sideways.
