The Sun in Libra stands opposite Chiron in Aries, within a degree of exact and just past it, so the contact is now easing. It sets the urge to be seen and to count against the sore point Chiron marks in Aries. In Libra that urge looks for itself through a partner. In Aries the sore point is the place where acting on one's own behalf has met a block. An opposition is mostly lived through other people. Today that tends to mean seeing an old hurt in someone else's behaviour before recognising it as one's own. That recognition is what the sky asks for, because it turns a quarrel across the table into knowledge about oneself.

Pluto in Aquarius squares both ends of this opposition, forming a T-square with Pluto at the apex. A second T-square repeats the shape with Venus in Scorpio in the Sun's place. The two figures share a leg, Pluto square Chiron, and that square is loosening: it is last in orb on 30 October. The sky holds one pressure running through two personal planets into the same point.

Here the apex is Pluto, six days past its direct station. Pluto stands for deep change and for power, and Aquarius is a sign that wants to remake the group to its own idea. Once an old hurt about self-assertion is stirred, it looks for an outlet in questions of who decides and how a shared arrangement ought to change. The old tradition places the Sun in its fall in Libra. A solar will is less sure of itself in a sign that lives through the pair, and that unease is part of what feeds the apex.

If the figure runs the day, it is easy to recognise. A hurt from being overruled grows into a campaign to change everyone else, or a group decision gets pushed through for the sake of winning it. Pluto sits badly with purely private aims and with group life, where it can override other people's freedom. Its proper ground is change that lets a person, or a community, become more fully itself.

A T-square carries real force and needs a definite target. Left to take control, its pressure produces events that feel out of hand. Pressed down, it leaks out anyway. The sky offers its own counterweight in Mars in Leo trining Saturn in Aries. The trine is easing but still in reach, and it gives sustained, disciplined effort aimed at one concrete end, with Saturn retrograde asking for review and patience rather than speed. Chiron sextile the North Node is within a degree too, a standing contact now easing. The Sun touches both ends of it, opposing Chiron and trining the Node, which ties the old hurt to the repair the Node asks for.

Astrocábala reads the Node as tikun, the repair of what is still outstanding. It reads Chiron through the Sun's own archetype, as pain transmuted through understanding, and with the Sun facing Chiron that reading is close to literal.

As the Sun's opposition to Chiron eases, Venus's opposition to Chiron tightens, and the Sun and Venus are drawing together towards conjunction. The weight moves from self-assertion towards affection and what people want from each other. Venus is retrograde. Old ties and unfinished matters can resurface, feelings bruise more easily and agreement takes more effort. The same retrograde can offer another try at what had broken down, and asks for a more careful look at what one hopes for in love.

Venus also stands quincunx Neptune in Aries, within a degree and just past exact. It joins love and the dissolving pull of ideals in a link that fits badly, and Neptune already works under strain in a sign as self-driven as Aries.

Venus reaches the standing Neptune sextile Pluto too, a slow contact within a degree, easing, that belongs to a generation. Through Venus, that long reshaping of ideals and power comes down to what one loves and values. The quincunx is handled by small, careful changes of approach rather than forced answers, and by holding back on promises until the picture clears.

Uranus in Gemini is quincunx Black Moon Lilith in Capricorn, within a degree and tightening. Uranus here quickens the restless mind and the wish to break a pattern. Lilith marks desire, regret and what is missing, and in Capricorn the lack concerns control and having something solid to point to. The urge to change course and the want for firm ground do not fit together.

No planet stands in an earth sign today. With nothing in earth, imagination has little to give it form, so a plan is worth testing against what actually works.

The Moon is in Pisces today, a sign of compassion for whatever suffers. That fits Chiron’s other face: knowing a hurt from the inside makes it easier to help someone else through it. If a hurt turns into a victim's stance or a retreat into daydreams, the Neptune contact and the missing earth are feeding it.

This is day thirteen of the half lunation opened by the New Moon in Libra on 10 October, which set matters of partnership and balance moving. The Sun's opposition to Chiron brings those matters to their sore point. The Full Moon in Taurus follows on 26 October.

The Moon has entered its gibbous phase today, a stretch for refining, checking and clarifying what the period began. Mercury in Scorpio, tightening its square to Jupiter in Leo, turns retrograde on 24 October. Jupiter in Leo inflates claims and invites promises larger than anyone can keep, and the square tests them. Words and agreements made now are worth checking twice.
