The Moon is in Scorpio, a sign Ptolemy names as her fall, and she is travelling between Venus and Mercury there. The Moon's usual gift is softness and adaptability, the easy give that lets feeling adjust to circumstance. In her fall that give is reduced. Both Astrocábala and modern practice make Pluto co-ruler of Scorpio, so the sign pulls toward what is buried rather than what sits on the surface. The result is a day when feelings run lower and shift less readily. The Moon is also closing on Mercury, the planet of thought and talk, so what gets said tends to land with more weight than usual.
The one exact contact involving the Moon is a quincunx to Saturn, retrograde in Aries. Saturn is in its fall there too, and so is the Sun in Libra, which makes three of the day's bodies weakened by sign. This angle is where the tradition divides. Ptolemy holds that signs five apart share no familiarity and does not count the angle at all. Modern practice reads it as an aspect of adjustment: two things with no common ground, each needing to correct course around the other. On the modern reading, the Moon's need for give meets Saturn's demand for routine and endurance, and neither bends. The Moon moves quickly, so this passes almost as soon as it is exact.
Neptune is exactly square Black Moon Lilith, and easing slightly since yesterday. Neptune loosens boundaries, between self and surroundings and between what is and what is imagined. That same loosening makes room for imagination and also for evasion. Lilith is read as what refuses to be accommodated, the part that will not be traded away for acceptance. A square is a discordant angle. Here it tends to blur the line around a refusal. It can be hard to say exactly what one is declining, or on whose terms. Sepharial's Neptune is also the planet of complications and involved affairs, which fits a contact where positions get muddy. This sits harder for anyone with planets or angles in the first few degrees of Aries or Capricorn. It is separating, and loosens from here.
The most useful contact in the sky is Mars trining Saturn, and it is tightening. Mars in Leo carries ambition, executive ability and the push toward new enterprise. Saturn carries patience, method and results in proportion to labour. A trine is harmonious, so the two cooperate. The passing Mars gives Saturn's long stay in Aries a moment to work. Saturn's restraint is weakened in a fire sign, and the trine lends Mars's drive the structure it would otherwise lack. Effort put into something steady and repeatable has support while this builds.
Some pressure has also lifted. Venus has passed her exact square to Mars and is pulling away. The T-square that held Mars, Pluto and Venus together, with Venus at its focal point, has dissolved since yesterday. Mars's opposition to Pluto is widening as well. The friction that pinned affection and pleasure between assertion on one side and Pluto's weight on the other is loosening.
One thread of it is still tightening: Venus's square to Pluto. Venus governs affection, pleasure and fine feeling. Pluto concerns power, both personal power and power held over us, and what has been held by force being made to loosen. With the Moon in Pluto's own sign, this contact gets extra attention. If an attachment has rested on one person quietly setting the terms, it tends to come under question while this square applies. The counsel under Pluto is consistent across both lines: do not let frustration accumulate, and do not let someone else's authority stand in for your own judgment.
Against that, the Sun is moving toward a sextile with Jupiter in Leo, and that contact is tightening too. The Sun is weak in Libra, but Jupiter brings generosity and a fruitful mind, and the sextile is an easy angle. Warmth and goodwill come more readily where they are offered openly.
A practical use for the day is to choose one piece of work that rewards steady repetition, and give it the energy that might otherwise go into brooding. Mars and Saturn will carry that kind of effort. If something heavy surfaces in conversation, let it be said plainly, and leave it there rather than pressing for a resolution today.
